Sea Fever by Mileva Anastasiadou

She waves at me through the screen and she talks and talks and talks, while all I want is to touch her, feel her breath on my face, hold her hand, but it’s not safe, they say, we can’t touch, we can’t hug, we can only talk, and all she says is she misses the sea, while I miss her while she talks and talks and talks about the sea, she doesn’t know yet about the cough, about my fever, and I hope, oh how I hope, that the sea is all she misses by the end of it all.
